Tower Hamlets Country Club (THCC)

We are we please to introduce you to The Tower Hamlets Country Club (Our home for over 30 years) A community initiative curated by Resort Sportswear.

Our mission is to truly grow the game of golf across the UK by creating access for young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience golf. Through organised outreach days, we will bring youth from local schools, community centres, and youth clubs to driving ranges and golf courses — providing transport, safeguarding, qualified supervision and professional coaching.

THCC exists to remove barriers to entry, introduce golf in an inclusive and inspiring way, and help nurture a new generation of golfers from Tower Hamlets and beyond.

Running throughout the UK school holidays, the programme will move from driving ranges and pitch and putts and culminate in full rounds of golf on an 18 hole course, together with a certification confirming attendance/performance proficiency/rules and etiquette training and equipment selection competency.

Initial sessions will be based at Ingrebourne Links Golf Facility, which offers a state-of-the-art driving range, 9-hole course and a full championship 18 hole links style golf course.

Each outreach day will be supported by PGA professionals and coaches as well as Resort personnel.

Participants will be transported to and from sessions, with the central pickup and return point located at Resort Sportswear’s shop at 4 Wilkes Street, E1 6QF.

THCC is about access, opportunity, and representation. Golf can feel distant or inaccessible to many young people in inner London and many other parts of the country. For both cultural and socio-economic reasons there has long been an image of golf that screams exclusivity and we want to change that by showing the participants positive role models, and showing them that golf is for everyone.

Fear plays too large a part in all our lives, and no space exemplifies that more than Golf. Clubs fear change and they fear the uneducated youth golfer. The youth fear judgement and exclusion. We want to eradicate that fear for both groups.

Tower Hamlets Country Club reflects Resort Sportswear’s wider commitment to inclusivity, community development, and growing the game beyond traditional boundaries — combining sport, mentorship, and cultural connection to build lasting impact.

Initiatives:

Through the release of a series of new apparel pieces 100% of the profit will be allocated directly to the THCC fund.

THCC will also be starting the THCC Golf Society.
This will be invite and prebook via our web portal.

Meets will be at the store in E1 or at one of our partner venues.
Transport will provided to a monthly rotating Golf Course in the greater London area. Resort will cover transport costs and admin.
Food and prizes will also be provided. (We only do good prizes)
Raffles will be held on all days for rather special gifts and fund raising will happen throughout the day.
Return transport back to the store will be provided for beers or soft drinks.
This is about more than just meeting up to play golf then disappearing. Being together for the whole day is absolutely part of the nucleus of building this community.
We are building something meaningful here where we have a common goal and we have a common custody and responsibility over its delivery.
A true Society worth being part of. Participants will be members and custodians of the project as a whole.

Let’s make this shift. We have ignored the talent pool that exists in communities outside the traditional net for too long.
